Straight skirts

I have kept a copy of this Dolce and Gabbana ad with me for over a year. I thought it was so lovely and I really wanted to make something like it.
This is my version.
I finished the rest of these recently and just in time for fall. I think there is something so classic about strait skirts in the fall.
This one makes me feel like a sexy librarian.
I love the color of this one.
Come over to Yellow Bird Fabrics and get some fabric for a fabulous fall skirt. They are so easy and fun to make. You can even take a class if you need a little help. We hope to see you soon!

Yellow Bird Fabrics at Craft Lake City

I've sewn 46 pairs of shoes so far! These shoes are just one of the many things that we'll be selling at Craft Lake City. We hope you'll join us at the third annual Craft Lake City on Saturday, August 13th at the Gallivan Center. This “D.I.Y Arts & Crafts Festival” features tons of entertainment throughout the day, great food choices & of course, showcases progressive artists from Utah & around the region. The event will be from 2:00-10:00pm & admission is free! Look for the Yellow Bird Fabrics booth. We've created a lot of beautiful things to sell and inspire.

Speaking of Fall...

Leena inspired me to make this dress last fall. As sewing projects often go, it got put on the back burner until recently. It is finally finished just in time for this fall. It is made from a beautiful wool crepe that we have for sale here at the store. The photo above does not show the detail on the sleeve and belt so here is a close up photo of the belt. The belt is made from the same wool crepe, but there is a sewn in interfacing called "Texture Magic." When you apply steam to the Texture Magic, it shrinks up and gives you a unique textured effect.
