Happy November everyone!

We’ll discuss and learn such things as how to pick the best zipper insertion option, how to stabilize seams properly, sew a vent and lining for your skirt and add unique touches to truly make the skirt your own. Each participant will be supplied with instructions for tips and techniques in addition to hands on instruction and will go home confident with a beautifully finished, easy to wear and pair, pencil skirt! This class is all about how to do what’s referred to as a “rub-off” – taking a pre-existing garment and creating a paper pattern from it, all without harming the original garment. In this lecture style class you’ll learn two techniques for how to create a paper pattern from your favorite garment.  We’ll discuss construction order, how to add in elements like darts and gathers and ideas for creating different garments from one pattern. Yellow Bird's Creative Customers

Over the last 3 months our amazing customers have been bringing in projects that they have made with their Yellow Bird fabrics. I am finally posting them!
Carolynn made this fun floral belt in Sunni's beltmaking class. Thank you for sharing!
Natalie fashioned this fabulous skirt from one of our spring fabrics. I love the large scale print. It's hard to see in this photo, but Natalie embroidered around the flower and leaf. The detail is inspiring!
Madison, 12 years old, looks perfect in yellow polka dots. Lace trims the hem of her shorts and the patch pockets on the back of her shorts.
Grace, 11 years old, also sewed her sassy striped shorts. Lookin' good Grace.
Halle, 11 years old, is beautiful in blue. Those shorts look awesome!
Give a big round of applause to these 3 young and talented seamstresses!
Janet constructed this great ensemble with one of our Vera Wang cottons. The red cording makes a great accent and it's the perfect finishing touch. Thanks Janet!
Lisa completed these knit projects with finesse! I love the asymmetrical placement of the print on the top. Lisa had the brilliant idea to add a hidden pocket on the left side of the shirt. How convenient! I love pockets! The dress fits like a glove. The cut is eye-catching and slimming.

Julie made this gorgeous jacket from Vogue pattern 1264. It looks better than the sample made on the pattern envelope! The lambskin leather and the brushed wool gaberdine makes this jacket so luxurious. Well done Julie!
Sharie created this elegant wedding gown for her daughter. Her daughter wants to get married again and again to her husband so she can wear this dress over and over. I agree, I would want to wear this dress everyday too. I adore it! Thank you for sharing Sharie.

Thanks to all of our creative customers for sharing your fabulous projects! Keep up the good work!

If you have a project you would like to share, please email me at yellowbirdfabrics@gmail.com.

Happy sewing!
